Challenge: Transform a childish room to something more teen appropriate.  Add light, storage and an area to study or do homework.

Wonderfully bright and airy, this tween bedroom once lacked color, style and charisma.  We punched up the room by painting he walls a soft robin’s egg blue.  We removed the existing “builders special” ceiling light and replaced it with a more hip, wood bead & raffia chandelier.  

The existing room did not have any table or storage space.  We brought in a desk, so our client could study comfortably in her room.  And, we paired the desk with a round skirted table.  The skirted table added a bit of softness to the room.  A pair of mother-of-pearl end table lamps added ambient light to the room and gave our young client more reasons to read and study more comfortably in her room. We installed a tall bookcase for display & storage.  

The bold pink striped rug brings a happy punch of color to the room.  We brought in the shag bean bag chair because it had such great texture and epitomized “teen”.  The crisp white custom drapery panels with periwinkle and fuchsia trim band draws your eye upward – adding visual height to the room.  The lucite poles add a youthful zest.
