Challenge: To repair and improve powder room function, create a lighter, brighter space.
Atlanta interior designer, Barclay Stone, took an existing powder room that had suffered flood damage, and renovated it to become a colorful new jewel box in the home! All existing floor and wall tiles were removed, as was the toilet, vanity and wallpaper. Barclay Stone Interiors eliminated the decorative arch over the tub/shower area as it made the space appear smaller and cramped.
When BSI demolished the shower tile area, a neglected window was exposed. We anticipated covering up. However, because the newly exposed window brought in such welcoming natural light, the homeowners opted to keep it exposed and ordered a new window.
Now, sunshine floods the new space, making it more bright and welcoming for visitors.
The hand-printed Chinoiserie wallpaper is the star of this small room. The wallpaper brings a colorful, yet, sophisticated elegance to the new space. The crowning touch is a custom-designed Chippendale vanity. The reflective mirror echoes the drama of the wallpaper.
